Cuban Style Black Beans
Ingredients
- 2 cups dry black beans
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 small–medium yellow onion, diced
- 2 tbsp garlic, minced
- Olive oil
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp white sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Soak dry beans in warm–hot water for 4–6 hours or so.
- Drain and rinse the beans.
- Add the beans, 3 cups of water, and bay leaves to the pressure
cooker (Instant Pot) and cook on high for 20 minutes with 20 minutes
natural release.
- Remove the bay leaves.
- Saute onion and garlic with olive oil in a small pot. Then, add
onion and garlic to the beans.
- Mix in vinegar, salt, sugar, oregano, cumin, and pepper.
